Robert Hampson || From transmissions 1-19 (covodes 20-38: variants of concern)

This is the second series of covodes - covodes 1-19 are published by Artery Editions. The final poem in the sequence, covode 39, was published in Responses to Pale Blue Dot (1990) by Voyager 1 (Pilot Press).

The covodes were written through lockdown as a documentation of the period: they were written one every two or three weeks and drew on the events of those weeks. The form was developed as an experimental version of the ode (as a public voice form). 

Robert Hampson is the author of an explanation of colours (Veer, 2010), reworked disasters (kfs, 2013) - which was long-listed for the Forward Prize, and covodes 1-19 (Artery Editions, 2021). His work has appeared in various magazines including The Wolf, Tears in the Fence and Long Poem Magazine.
